Ingredients
Pastry
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 large ripe tomato
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt,
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • (226 grams) Mozzarella
  • 1-2 tablespoons cream cheese
How it's made!
    • Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    • Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface to fit the size of the baking sheet. Transfer the pastry sheet to the prepared baking sheet.
    • Spread the tomato sauce over the puff pastry sheet, leaving a 1/2-inch border around the edges.
    • Layer the sliced tomatoes on top of the tomato sauce.
    • Sprinkle the sliced basil, Italian seasoning, kosher salt, and freshly ground black pepper over the tomatoes.
    • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top of the tart.
    • Dot small pieces of cream cheese evenly over the mozzarella cheese.
    • Bake the tart in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
    • Remove the tart from the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
